Moguer hosts 52nd Flamenco Cante Festival

The town of Moguer in Andalusia will hold its 52nd Festival of Flamenco Cante on 11 July at the Caseta de la Peña de Cante Jondo in the La Parrala fairgrounds. The program is headlined by celebrated singer Antonio Reyes and on‑stage vocalist Sandra Carrasco, who will be accompanied on guitar by David de Arahal. The line‑up also includes cantaor Rafael Núñez “El Talega” and dancer María Moreno.

The event is organized jointly by the Diputación de Huelva, the Ayuntamiento de Moguer and the local Peña de Cante Jondo, and this year’s edition is dedicated to the Peña Flamenca Femenina de Huelva in recognition of more than four decades of work promoting flamenco and women’s visibility in the art. A pre‑festival Semana Flamenca will offer conferences, film screenings and recitals. Tickets cost €15 and can be bought through Momotickets or at the venue box office. Since its inception in 1975, the festival has become a key cultural fixture in the province, having featured legends such as Camarón de la Isla, Miguel Poveda, El Cigala and Estrella Morente.
