Mohali: Two laborers killed in hospital construction collapse

Two laborers died after a portion of an under-construction hospital collapsed in the Aerocity area of Mohali, Punjab. The incident occurred following heavy rainfall, which caused the ground at the construction site to subside.

According to reports, the ground collapse triggered the structural failure, trapping four workers under the debris. Rescue teams and local administration arrived at the scene to conduct an operation, successfully retrieving two workers alive. However, the other two workers were pronounced dead by doctors after being pulled from the rubble.

Local authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident. DSP HS Ball stated that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) will be formed to conduct a thorough inquiry into the circumstances and causes of the collapse, including whether safety standards and construction regulations were followed.
