Mohamad Armin Zahryl sets new SUKMA 110m hurdles record

Mohamad Armin Zahryl Abdul Latif set a new SUKMA championship record in the men’s 110m hurdles at the SUKMA Selangor 2026 games. Representing Terengganu, Armin clocked 13.66 seconds at the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Stadium to secure the gold medal.

The event saw the long-standing record of 14.10 seconds, held by former national athlete Rayzam Shah Wan Sofian since 2008, broken twice within a few hours. Muhammad Hazriq Cik Mat Kilau first broke the 18-year-old record during the semifinals with a time of 13.78 seconds. However, Armin surpassed this mark in the final to claim the title.

Muhammad Hazriq took the silver medal with a time of 13.83 seconds, while Muhammad Ruzki A’limi Mohd Zahizal from the Federal Territory earned the bronze with a time of 13.96 seconds. Armin noted that the presence of his mother at the venue provided significant motivation for his performance.
