Lebanon: Former Minister commemorates Musa al-Sadr disappearance
Former Minister Mohamad Wissam al-Murtada issued a statement commemorating the anniversary of the disappearance of Imam Musa al-Sadr and his companions. Al-Murtada described al-Sadr not merely as a historical figure, but as a continuous intellectual presence in the Lebanese conscience.
In his remarks, al-Murtada emphasized that al-Sadr’s legacy serves as a guide for national unity and the preservation of human dignity alongside territorial integrity. He highlighted the importance of Southern Lebanon, describing it as the heart of the nation that must be protected against occupation.
Al-Murtada concluded that al-Sadr’s school of thought encourages Lebanese citizens to stand against injustice and maintain their connection to their land, asserting that political differences should not divide the nation when facing external threats.
