Mohamed Abdelmonem rejects lucrative Gulf offer to stay at OGC Nice

Egyptian defender Mohamed Abdelmonem has reportedly rejected a lucrative offer from an unnamed club in the Gulf region to remain with French side OGC Nice. The offer was valued at approximately €5 million per year.

Abdelmonem, 27, has prioritized securing a consistent starting position in Ligue 1 following a difficult period marked by significant injuries, including an ACL tear and a severe ankle sprain. Despite interest from Egyptian clubs Al Ahly and Pyramids, as well as potential interest from clubs like Galatasaray and Bologna, the player has expressed a desire to stay in Europe.

OGC Nice sporting director Roger Ricort confirmed that the club has not received any formal transfer offers for the defender. He stated, “We have not received any offer from Al Ahly, Pyramids or any other Arab club for Mohamed Abdelmonem,” adding that neither the player nor his agent has expressed a desire to leave. Abdelmonem is currently under contract with Nice until June 2028.
