Mohamed Salah transfer to Beşiktaş stalls over 35% commission demand

Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah, who left Liverpool on a free transfer, has been in advanced talks with Turkish club Beşiktaş for a two‑year contract reportedly offering €10 million guaranteed salary plus €2 million in bonuses. Club president Serdal Adalı stated the player and the club had reached agreement on all sporting and personal terms, saying “Salah ile her konuda mutabıkız.”

Negotiations broke down after Salah’s agent Ramy Abbas reportedly raised the commission fee to about 35 % of the deal. Adalı declared the demand “inanılmaz rakamlara” and said the club could not accept it, emphasizing that only Ramy Abbas was involved in the talks. The club has denied rumors of other intermediaries and clarified that no official signing has been announced. While other suitors from Saudi Arabia and the United States have shown interest, Beşiktaş insists the commission issue remains the obstacle to finalising the transfer.
