Mohamed Salah lands in Trabzon, greeted by thousands of fans
Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah, 34, completed a free transfer from Liverpool to Turkish club Trabzonspor. He signed a contract running until the summer of 2028 with an annual salary of €17 million, plus bonuses. Salah arrived in Turkey on a private jet, first landing at Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport before proceeding to Trabzon Airport.
At the airport, between 25,000 and 30,000 supporters gathered with torches, chants of “Ya Allah, Bismillah Mohamed Salah” and fireworks. Club president Ertuğrul Doğan welcomed him, took a photo with the fans and later joined Salah for a three‑person pose. The club announced that a formal signing ceremony will be held at Papara Park on the following day.
Salah said he was “extremely happy” and that he had never seen such a reception, describing the atmosphere as “incredible”. Beşiktaş president Serdal Adalı later clarified that his club had not been involved in the transfer.
