Mohamed Salah Nears Move to Saudi Pro League Amid Ongoing Negotiations

British outlet TEAMtalk reports that Egyptian captain Mohamed Salah has reached a preliminary agreement with officials of the Saudi Pro League for a transfer in the coming season, though no club has been confirmed yet. Salah, who departed Liverpool after his contract expired, is evaluating offers from several Saudi clubs, with Al Hilal and Al Qadsiah highlighted as the nearest contenders.

Financial terms are presenting the biggest obstacle. The Sun notes that Salah’s previous weekly wage of £400,000 at Liverpool sets a high benchmark, and Saudi clubs are still negotiating the contract value. In addition, Al Hilal is reportedly planning to appoint former Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards as chief executive, a move that could influence the final deal.

The negotiations continue as Salah weighs options, including interest from clubs outside Saudi Arabia, while major Saudi teams remain keen to secure the forward’s services for the next season.
