Mohamed Salah transfer sparks culinary tourism in Trabzon
The transfer of Egyptian football star Mohamed Salah to the Turkish club Trabzonspor has triggered a surge in culinary tourism in the Black Sea region. A promotional video released by the club, showing Salah enjoying local dishes while wearing his new jersey, has sparked significant interest among international tourists.
Local delicacies featured in the video, such as ‘Kuymak’ (also known as ‘Muhlama’), black cabbage rolls, corn bread, and ‘Kaygana’, have become major points of interest for visitors. Emre Murat, president of the Trabzon Culinary Arts Association, noted that the video has served as a powerful tool for promoting the region's culture and lifestyle beyond sports, leading to increased demand for local food products and inquiries from foreign tourists regarding where to find these specific dishes.
