Mohamed Sanhadji under investigation for corruption

Mohamed Sanhadji, the logistics and security manager for the French national football team, has been placed under formal investigation by the Paris Prosecutor's Office. He faces multiple charges, including corruption, influence peddling, misappropriation of public funds, fraud, and tax fraud laundering.

The investigation stems from a €60,300 check Sanhadji received from Kylian Mbappé in June 2023. The funds were part of the player's bonus from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The transaction was flagged in July 2024 by a banking institution to Tracfin, the French financial intelligence unit, triggering inquiries into undeclared work and money laundering.

As part of judicial restrictions, Sanhadji is prohibited from contacting current or former national team players, coaching staff, or officials of the French Football Federation. This development impacts the technical staff under Zinedine Zidane, as Sanhadji will no longer be present at the national team's training sessions at Clairefontaine.
