Mohammad Abbas claims 900th first-class wicket at Lord's
Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Abbas reached a major milestone during the second Test against England at Lord's, claiming his 900th first-class wicket by dismissing Ben Duckett. This achievement places him fifth on the list of bowlers with the most first-class wickets in the 21st century.
During the opening session, Abbas's bowling performance helped Pakistan gain an early advantage, taking three wickets for 34 runs, including the wicket of England captain Joe Root. Although England recovered later in the day with half-centuries from Jordan Cox and Jamie Smith to reach 248 for 9, Pakistan maintained a strong position.
Ahead of the match, Pakistan captain Babar Azam expressed the team's ambition to achieve a hat-trick of victories at Lord's, following successful matches in 2016 and 2018. Additionally, images of the Pakistani squad posing with a portrait of legendary batsman Inzamam-ul-Haq at the Lord's pavilion have gained significant social media attention.
