Mohammad Mohebi reportedly set to join HNK Rijeka
HNK Rijeka is reportedly close to signing Iranian international Mohammad Mohebi. According to Iranian sports journalist Hosein Panbehkar, the 27-year-old winger is expected to join the Croatian club as a free agent following his departure from the Russian side Rostov.
Mohebi, who has a market value of approximately 2.5 million euros, gained international attention during the 2026 World Cup, where he scored a header against New Zealand. His goal celebration at the tournament drew scrutiny due to a gesture mimicking gunfire, which Mohebi later clarified was intended as a tribute to Iranian fans living in Los Angeles rather than a political statement.
Mohebi has extensive experience playing for clubs such as Sepahan, Esteghlal, and Santa Clara, as well as Rostov. If the transfer is finalized, he will provide depth to Rijeka's attacking options, potentially competing for positions alongside players like Daniel Adu-Adjei.
