Mohammed Kudus nears Tottenham return after injury layoff
Ghanaian attacker Mohammed Kudus is nearing a return to action for Tottenham Hotspur following a lengthy injury layoff. The 26-year-old has been sidelined since January due to a quadriceps injury sustained during a Premier League match against Sunderland.
While Kudus initially hoped to avoid surgery to ensure availability for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, he eventually underwent the procedure, which ruled him out of the tournament and extended his recovery. After resuming light individual training in early August, he has made steady progress in his rehabilitation.
Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi provided a positive update, stating, “Kudus is almost ready; that is a big point for us.” However, De Zerbi emphasized a cautious approach to the player's reintegration, noting that the club will not take unnecessary risks with his management. There is optimism that Kudus could return to the squad before the international break following matches against Nottingham Forest, Everton, or Aston Villa.
