Mohammed Kudus withdraws from Ghana duty for Tottenham fitness program

Tottenham Hotspur winger Mohammed Kudus has withdrawn from international duty with Ghana to focus on a three-week fitness and rehabilitation program in North London. The decision follows his recent return to action after a long absence due to a serious quad injury. Kudus will miss Ghana’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Ivory Coast and Gambia, as well as a friendly against Morocco.

The Ghana Football Association has defended the player against local criticism and conspiracy theories regarding his absence. Frederick Acheampong, an Executive Council member of the Ghana FA, stated that the withdrawal was granted on compassionate grounds to ensure the player’s physical readiness following his injury.

Separately, former Tottenham scout Bryan King revealed that Manchester United, Arsenal, and Tottenham were all close to signing Kudus in 2017 when he was playing for Nordsjaelland. At that time, the winger could have been acquired for approximately £800,000 before he eventually moved to Ajax.
