Mohammed Raad discusses Al-Aqsa Flood objectives and regional impact

Lebanese MP Mohammed Raad, writing for Al-Akhbar, commented on the objectives and regional impact of the ‘Al-Aqsa Flood’ operation. He stated that the primary goal of the operation was to force a shift in how the international and regional communities address the worsening suffering of the Palestinian people.

Raad argued that while the operation shocked Israel and its Western supporters, such as the United States and European nations, it caused concern among certain Arab regimes. He suggested this concern stems from the operation occurring outside the framework of established normalization processes, which he characterized as an acquiescence to the occupation's will.

Furthermore, Raad criticized the regional response, claiming that some regimes prioritized diplomacy and ‘positive patience’ over resistance. He accused the international system and certain regional actors of complicity, allowing for continued military actions against Palestinians while ignoring the humanitarian consequences.
