Mohammed Shami eyes India comeback after Duleep Trophy win
Veteran Indian pacer Mohammed Shami has expressed his desire for a national team comeback following East Zone’s Duleep Trophy victory. In his 100th first-class match, the 36-year-old played a key role in the title win, claiming two wickets in the final against South Zone. East Zone secured the trophy based on a commanding first-innings lead after the final ended in a draw.
Shami noted that his motivation remains high, stating that his mindset is focused on fulfilling his responsibilities whenever an opportunity arises. During the tournament, Shami also took on a mentoring role for younger players, including 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who served as the team's vice-captain.
