Mohammed V Mosque in Fnideq nears completion for Mawlid al-Nabi
Renovation work on the Mohammed V Mosque in Fnideq is accelerating around the clock to ensure the facility is ready for its official opening during the Mawlid al-Nabi celebrations.
The project is part of a broader contract by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs to rehabilitate two mosques in the M'diq-Fnideq prefecture. While the Mohammed VI Mosque in M'diq has already completed its renovations, the Mohammed V Mosque in Fnideq is in its final stages.
Although the original contract focused on roof repairs and waterproofing with a six-month timeline, the Ministry expanded the scope of work to include interior and exterior painting. Following the initial reopening, the mosque is expected to undergo a comprehensive re-upholstering process over the next four months to update the interior space with traditional Moroccan styles, alongside upgrades to sound, lighting, and energy efficiency systems.
