Mohammed VI Foundation hosts African Hadith competition in Rabat

The third edition of the Mohammed VI Foundation for African Scholars Hadith competition has commenced in Rabat, Morocco. The event features 123 contestants, including 30 women, representing 48 African nations via video conferencing technology.

The three-day competition focuses on the life and characteristics of the Prophet Muhammad, divided into three scientific categories: the proofs of prophethood, the Muhammadan characteristics, and prophetic qualities. Participants are evaluated on their ability to memorize, understand, and apply the sciences of Hadith.

Mohammed Refqi, Secretary General of the Foundation, stated that the competition aims to promote Islamic values, moderation, and coexistence across the continent. A central scientific committee comprising experts from Mauritania, Senegal, Mali, Chad, Nigeria, South Sudan, and Ivory Coast, alongside Moroccan scholars, is overseeing the judging process.
