Mohammed VI University Hospital in Tangier reports patient infections
The administration of Mohammed VI University Hospital in Tangier has reported cases of acute inflammation among patients in the ophthalmology department. Following medical treatments administered on October 8, initial screenings on October 9 identified two cases of inflammation.
Subsequent medical examinations conducted on October 10 revealed that 13 out of 16 patients who received the same treatment developed similar inflammatory conditions, while the remaining three patients showed no complications. All affected patients are currently receiving appropriate medical treatment and continuous monitoring under the supervision of a specialized medical team.
A technical and medical investigation has been launched to determine the cause of these infections. The hospital is coordinating with the Hospital Infection Control Committee, the National Agency for Medicines and Health Products, and a specialist committee from the Ministry of Health and Social Protection to implement necessary health measures.
