Mohan Bhagwat addresses Indian youth at IIMUN amid student protest fallout

A two‑day youth conclave titled “Push the Envelope” was held at Maharaja Sawai Man Singh Vidyalaya in Jaipur, bringing together about 70 students from across India. Participants debated topics such as the National Education Policy, the relevance of the United Nations, and the need for strong opposition in a democracy, highlighting both enthusiasm and criticism of current reforms.

A few days later, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat spoke to more than 2,000 high‑school students at the 15th anniversary of the International Movement to Unite Nations (IIMUN) conference in Mumbai. His address, themed “The Role of Youth in Uniting the World, the Indian Way,” came after nationwide student protests that led to the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The event drew political scrutiny, with Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray questioning the timing of the outreach and recalling the police actions faced by protesters.

Both events underscore a growing focus on engaging Generation Z in India’s political and educational debates following recent unrest on campuses.
