Mohan Bhagwat says India’s ancient traditions can address global challenges

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat stated in Mumbai that India’s concept of the nation is inseparable from dharma, asserting that the purpose of the nation is dharma and dharma helps sustain the nation.

Addressing the 14th conference of the All India Vihar Seva group, Bhagwat argued that India’s ancient knowledge traditions can help resolve global tensions, such as the conflict between development and environmental protection, and the friction between individual freedom and family stability. He noted that the world is currently facing a lack of balance and rising extremism.

Bhagwat highlighted India’s history of sharing knowledge—citing the Vedas, Upanishads, Ramayana, Mahabharata, Gita, Jain Agamas, Tripitaka, and Guru Granth Sahib—without seeking to conquer other nations or convert people. He emphasized that preserving these spiritual and knowledge traditions is a service to humanity and essential for the future of the human race.
