Mohan Bhagwat speaks to Gen Z and Gen Alpha at Mumbai youth conference
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat attended the International Movement to Unite Nations (IIMUN) conference at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai on 6 August. The event, marking IIMUN’s 15th anniversary, gathered more than 2,000 students from over 100 Indian cities, representing Generation Z and Generation Alpha. Bhagwat addressed the theme “The Role of Youth in Uniting the World, the Indian Way”, urging the young audience to engage in nation‑building and to view India’s role in global unity.
He praised the honesty of the younger generation, saying he would “trust Gen Z blindly”, and affirmed that peaceful protest is a legitimate form of democratic dialogue. Bhagwat called for reforms in India’s education system and expressed support for allocating 6 % of the national budget to education. Prominent figures Shabana Azmi, Boman Irani and former Chief Justice D. Y. Chandrachud were also expected to attend. This was Bhagwat’s third appearance at an IIMUN event.
