Mohan Yadav prioritizes displaced families in Ken-Betwa Link Project

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has stated that the Ken-Betwa Link Project will serve as a milestone for the development of the Bundelkhand region. Once completed, the project is expected to increase irrigation capacity by 1.11 million hectares and provide drinking water to over 4.4 million people.

To address the impact on local communities, the Chief Minister directed the Panna and Chhatarpur district administrations to conduct door-to-door visits to understand the difficulties faced by affected families, particularly tribal groups. He emphasized that providing government scheme benefits directly to displaced families and establishing essential infrastructure—such as schools, health centers, and community buildings—at new resettlement sites must be a priority.

Additionally, officials have been instructed to expedite the payment of approved additional funds for those affected by the Runjh-Majhgaon project. For individuals lacking age documentation, medical examinations will be used to determine age for compensation purposes. The Chief Minister also called for regular monitoring of the project and increased public awareness through community meetings to address local concerns.
