Mohanish Behl's Bollywood career revived by Salman Khan
Actor Mohanish Behl nearly left the film industry in the mid-1980s to pursue a career in aviation after a string of five to six unsuccessful films. While preparing for his commercial flying license, a friendship formed with actor Salman Khan during a gym encounter led to a career revival.
Khan recommended Behl for the role of the antagonist ‘Jeevan’ in the 1989 Rajshri Productions film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’. The film's massive success established Behl in Bollywood. He later transitioned from negative roles to playing ideal family figures in major hits such as ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!’ and ‘Hum Saath-Saath Hain’.
Behl comes from a prominent cinematic lineage; he is the son of legendary actress Nutan and the cousin of actress Kajol. Following his success in cinema, he also achieved significant popularity in television.
