Mohbad death investigation and family dispute persist three years later

Three years after the sudden death of street-pop singer Ilerioluwa ‘Mohbad’ Aloba, his family and fans continue to seek justice and accountability. The 27-year-old singer died on 12 September 2023 after receiving treatment from an unlicensed nurse.

Despite a coroner’s inquest and an autopsy, the circumstances surrounding his death remain unresolved. While several individuals close to the singer, including Sam Larry and Naira Marley, were previously arrested, they were later released and cleared of allegations linking them to his death.

Further complicating the situation is a legal and personal dispute regarding the paternity of Mohbad’s son, Liam. This conflict between the singer’s father, Joseph Aloba, and his widow, Wunmi, has prevented the singer's remains from being reburied following their exhumation for investigation.
