Mohbad DNA case adjourned to November 16 amid family concerns

A court hearing regarding the DNA testing case involving the late singer Mohbad and his son, Liam, has been adjourned to November 16, 2026. The delay follows concerns raised by the family regarding the integrity and transparency of the proposed testing process.

Legal representatives for the family, including Mohbad’s father Joseph Aloba, expressed reservations about the designated testing center and its director. They questioned whether the facility would perform the tests directly or merely collect and transfer samples to another laboratory. The family cited previous issues where sample transfers reportedly took six to eight months and resulted in inconclusive findings.

A new court-appointed welfare officer has been assigned to investigate these concerns and report back to the court. The family has filed a motion to be joined as interested parties and is awaiting the officer's findings before determining their next legal steps.
