Mohsen Rezaee demands US release frozen Iranian assets

Mohsen Rezaee, the newly appointed Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, has called on the United States to end hostilities and release frozen Iranian assets. Rezaee, a former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, emphasized that the security of the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, and the Sea of Oman is being jeopardized by American actions and the imposition of what he termed an “illegal war” on Iran.

Rezaee stated that the Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened unless the United States changes its behavior and meets Iranian conditions. He also urged an end to regional conflicts, specifically mentioning Gaza and Lebanon.

In discussions with the Chinese ambassador, Rezaee highlighted the strategic partnership between Iran and China, noting their shared membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and BRICS. He expressed appreciation for China’s opposition to recent resolutions in the UN Security Council that were perceived as hostile toward Iran.
