Iran calls for regional stability and sets conditions for US negotiations
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has called on neighboring nations to avoid seeking security through the destabilization of others. Speaking at the 40th International Conference on Islamic Unity in Tehran, Pezeshkian emphasized that defending Iran should not imply hostility toward neighboring Muslim nations and urged that no Islamic territory be used as a platform for aggression against another.
Separately, Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, stated that Lebanon's security is inextricably linked to the stability of West Asia. In an interview with Al-Manar, Rezaei outlined Iran's requirements for any potential agreement with the United States, which include a cessation of hostilities in Lebanon, Gaza, and Syria, as well as the withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied Lebanese territories.
Rezaei further asserted that Beirut and its southern suburbs constitute red lines for Tehran. He warned that regional instability increases investment costs and undermines development opportunities across the Middle East, maintaining that Iran will continue to support Lebanon with all available resources.
