Mohsin Naqvi defends Pakistan cricket team performance

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has expressed confidence in the national cricket team despite recent challenges. During a dinner at Pakistan House in London, Naqvi stated that the team will perform regardless of the circumstances, emphasizing that self-confidence is key to overcoming major tests.

Addressing critics, Naqvi noted that since the appointment of new coaches, the team's win percentage in One Day Internationals (ODIs) has risen from 24 percent to 73 percent, with rankings improving from eighth to fifth. He also highlighted improvements in T20 rankings, moving from ninth to sixth. While acknowledging poor performance in Test cricket, he noted that there are underlying reasons for these struggles that have not yet been made public.

Naqvi defended the players against humiliation, stating that while criticism of defeats is a right, players should not be disparaged by those who have not contributed to the sport. He cautioned that while improvements are needed, the team cannot jump to the top position within three months, citing recent upsets involving other major nations as proof that victory is never guaranteed.
