Moinabad municipal officials arrested for ₹75,000 bribe

The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) apprehended two Moinabad municipal officials on September 30 for allegedly accepting a ₹75,000 bribe. The accused have been identified as Gundu Vani, the Moinabad Municipality Town Planning Officer, and Yelamoni Sudarshan, a Senior Assistant acting on deputation from his role as Panchayat Secretary.

According to the ACB, the bribe was demanded in exchange for refraining from taking coercive action against a complainant’s construction project by failing to classify it as an illegal structure. The ACB conducted a trap and recovered the full ₹75,000 from Sudarshan, who allegedly acted as an intermediary for Vani.

Both officials were produced before the I Additional Special Judge for Special Police Establishment and Anti-Corruption Bureau cases at Nampally for judicial remand. The investigation is ongoing, and the identity of the complainant has been withheld for security reasons.
