Moinho do Papel celebrates 17 years with cultural workshops and exhibitions

Moinho do Papel in Leiria is celebrating its 17th anniversary with a series of cultural activities running from September 13 to October 3. The program includes workshops, conferences, and art exhibitions designed to promote cultural heritage and traditional craftsmanship.

Key events include a paper sculpture workshop for children aged 6 to 12 led by Cristina de Sousa Ramos on September 13, and a conference on September 19 regarding the preservation of intangible cultural heritage and community identity. Basketry activities will be held on September 20, featuring both a children's workshop and an introductory session for older participants.

The celebrations continue on September 26 with a paper craft workshop led by Claudiane Xavier. The program concludes on October 3 with the inauguration of the contemporary art exhibition ‘Antes do fogo, vem a água’ by artist Andreia Pinho, which explores the connection between the site's heritage and modern artistic creation. All scheduled initiatives are free to the public.
