Moises Henriques scores T20I century to lead Portugal past Czechia

Moises Henriques, the former Australian all-rounder and current captain of Portugal, scored a historic T20I century during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Sub-Regional Qualifier C in Finland. Henriques struck 111 runs off 51 balls, including 12 fours and seven sixes, at a strike rate of 217.64.

His performance propelled Portugal to a total of 211/6 in their 20 overs. In response, Czechia struggled to 24/5 before rain interrupted play. Under the Duckworth-Lewis method, Portugal was declared the winner by 91 runs. This victory secures Portugal a place in the tournament final against Spain.

Born in Madeira, Henriques previously represented Australia in 44 international matches across all formats. After retiring from Australian domestic cricket, he switched allegiance to Portugal with the goal of leading the team toward T20 World Cup qualification.
