Mojang reveals Minecraft Dungeons 2 lore and cosmetic rewards

Mojang has revealed new narrative details for Minecraft Dungeons 2 during the ‘The Last Stand’ creator event. The game's lore will center on a dimension known as ‘The Sift,’ where a group of Illagers has discovered a portal to harness soul energy. This discovery threatens the Overworld with dimensional attacks and corrupted creatures.

Players can look forward to a Minecraft Live event scheduled for September 26, 2026, for further updates. Additionally, several cosmetic rewards have been announced for the sequel, including the Hero Cape, the Twisted Cape, the Soul Cape, the Corrupted Creeper Cape, and a Special Cape. Some items, such as the Hero Cape and Twisted Cape, are expected to be available for Minecraft Java and Bedrock Edition players.
