Mojiang, Yunnan hit by 5.0 magnitude earthquake

A 5.0 magnitude earthquake struck Mojiang Hani Autonomous County in Pu'er, Yunnan Province, on July 21 at 19:43.

Local authorities have initiated a level-four emergency response. The Yunnan Provincial Earthquake Relief Command has dispatched a working group to the site to guide emergency operations, while Pu'er has also activated a level-four response to verify damage in surrounding towns and villages.

As of the latest reports, no casualties or significant property damage have been recorded in the epicenter area of Jingping Village, Laohezhai. The local power grid in Mojiang remains operational, and the Yunnan Power Grid Company has activated its own emergency response to monitor seismic activity and prevent secondary disasters.
