Mojokerto corruption suspect arrested after year on the run

Authorities in Indonesia have arrested MR, the 39-year-old Director of CV Hasya Putera Mandiri, in connection with a corruption case involving the Kapal Majapahit culinary center project in Mojokerto. MR had been a fugitive on the East Java Prosecutor's Office wanted list.

The arrest took place on September 2, 2026, in Malang Regency. The project, a culinary center shaped like the Majapahit Ship located in the Taman Bahari Mojopahit area, was part of the 2023 budget year. The alleged corruption in the project is estimated to have caused state losses of approximately Rp1.9 billion.
