Mojtaba Khamenei Hunted by Israeli and U.S. Intelligence

For about 150 days Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of Iran’s supreme leader, has avoided any digital device, leading analysts to believe he is hidden deep underground. His face is reported to be disfigured after an airstrike that killed his father, Ali Khamenei, and senior Iranian military and intelligence officials.

Israel and the United States coordinated a cyber operation, hacking Tehran traffic cameras through the U.S. National Security Agency and Israel’s Unit 8200, to track the convoy of the slain officials. With the targets eliminated, the hunt now relies on human intelligence. Mossad agents operating inside Iran are focusing on confirming whether Mojtaba is alive and locating him, with possible hideouts in Tehran’s tunnel network or a military bunker near the holy city of Qom.

Some intelligence sources suspect he may already be dead and that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is staging his survival to justify continued conflict with the United States.
