Mokokchung District Football Association announces silver jubilee tournament

The Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA) has announced that the silver jubilee edition of the Dr. T. Ao Inter-District Football Tournament 2026 will begin on October 12 at the Rempu Lu Astro Turf Ground in Ungma. The tournament will feature teams from all 17 districts of Nagaland.

In preparation for the event, officials reported that construction of the turf ground is 80% complete. To prioritize the inter-district championship, the MDFA Trophy will be cancelled this year. The Mokokchung district squad, consisting of 20 players, has also been announced.

Additionally, the MDFA commemorated Futsal Day on August 15 at the Koridang Futsal Ground. The celebration, held under the direction of the All India Football Federation and the Nagaland Football Association, included an Under-15 match and an exhibition game between the MDFA and the Mokokchung Press Club.
