Mola di Bari to host Organ Day as part of Organova festival
Mola di Bari will host the XVII edition of ‘Organova - Stagione Internazionale di Santa Maria del Passo’ on September 18, 2026. The ‘Organ Day’ event is dedicated to the study and appreciation of organ music through guided tours, lectures, and live performances.
The program highlights two distinct instruments: the Petrus de Simone organ from 1747, located in the Church of Sant’Antonio, and the Francesco Zanin organ from 2018, located in the Church of San Domenico. These instruments allow participants to compare nearly three centuries of organ-building history.
Activities include guided tours led by artistic director Margherita Sciddurlo and a lecture by Dr. Claudio Ermogene Del Medico regarding the history of organ builder Orfeo Torres. The event aims to explore the technical mechanisms and historical significance of these instruments within the Puglian artistic heritage.
