Moldova adds new cardiovascular and other drugs to compensated medication list

Moldova's mandatory health‑insurance fund (AOAM) will partially reimburse several new medicines. Patients with endometriosis will receive the active substance dienogest, marketed under two commercial names, to reduce pain and disease progression. The estimated annual cost for this treatment is about 7 million lei. A combined rosuvastatin‑ezetimibe product for hypercholesterolemia and cardiovascular risk will also be covered, with projected expenses of roughly 2 million lei per year. The list expands indications for methylprednisolone, used in post‑organ‑transplant immunosuppression, with one of its two commercial versions fully compensated. All medicines can be obtained through the electronic e‑prescription system and are prescribed by family doctors or specialists.
