Moldova: Amalgamated localities improve access to EU funding

President Maia Sandu stated that amalgamated localities in Moldova have a higher probability of implementing large-scale projects supported by the European Union. During a meeting of the Joint Advisory Committee between the European Committee of the Regions and the Republic of Moldova, Sandu emphasized the government's goal to improve citizen access to essential infrastructure, including water, sewerage, and roads.

In conjunction with these development efforts, the EU Information Center, Europe Café, has launched the ‘Unde-s banii?’ (Where is the money?) campaign. The initiative aims to increase transparency by visiting various Moldovan communities to showcase how EU investments impact daily life. The campaign began in the Hîncești district and is scheduled to visit ten regions, including Telenești, Orhei, Rezina, Briceni, Călărași, Florești, Cimișlia, UTA Găgăuzia, and Bălți, throughout September and October 2026.
