Moldova Ambassador praises Turkey as a key strategic partner

Moldovan Ambassador to Ankara, Oleg Serebrian, has characterized the relationship between Turkey and Moldova as “very good and friendly.” Speaking regarding bilateral ties, Serebrian emphasized Turkey’s role as a significant partner and a close friend to Moldova.

Serebrian expressed appreciation for Turkey’s support regarding Moldova’s territorial integrity. He also highlighted Turkey’s contributions to preserving the identity of the Gagauz Turks in Moldova, noting that Turkey has funded the construction of schools, hospitals, and infrastructure facilities within both the Gagauz Autonomous Region and across Moldova.

On the economic front, Serebrian noted that Turkey is currently Moldova’s third-largest investor and one of its top three trading partners. While current trade volume has reached $2 billion, he described a target of higher trade figures as “ambitious and achievable.”
