Moldova and Faroe Islands draw 1-1 in Nations League

The Moldova national football team secured its first point of the current UEFA Nations League campaign following a 1-1 draw against the Faroe Islands at Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau.

The Faroe Islands took an early lead in the 26th minute through a penalty converted by captain Viljormur Davidsen, following a foul by Dmitri Mandrîcenco. Moldova responded in the 66th minute when Sergiu Perciun scored with a precise free kick from a difficult angle.

Both teams had opportunities to secure a victory in the closing stages, including a shot by Perciun and a strike by Nichita Moțpan that both hit the woodwork. The result leaves Moldova at the bottom of Group C3, level on one point with Kazakhstan, while the Faroe Islands sit in second place with two points.
