Moldova and Romania mark Ukraine Independence Day with solidarity gestures
Moldova and Romania have performed symbolic gestures of solidarity to mark Ukraine's Independence Day.
In Moldova, the Parliament building was illuminated in blue and yellow, the colors of the Ukrainian flag. Parliament President Igor Grosu issued a message of congratulations, noting that Ukraine's struggle for sovereignty and freedom is vital for the security of both Moldova and Europe. Additionally, an exhibition titled ‘Renaissance in Glory and Power’ was inaugurated at the Parliament, showcasing documentary and photographic materials regarding Ukrainian sacred heritage sites damaged or destroyed during the Russian military aggression.
In Romania, the city of Brașov joined the commemorations by illuminating the letters on Tâmpa Mountain in blue and yellow. This gesture follows an official request from the Embassy of Ukraine in Romania to honor both the State Flag Day and Ukraine's Independence Day, aiming to strengthen neighborly relations and support a peaceful, united Europe.
