Moldova announces agricultural insurance subsidies and EU alignment plans
The Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA) has announced a call for financial support for farmers who entered eligible agricultural insurance contracts in 2025. Applications for state assistance to cover a portion of insurance premiums can be submitted between September 1 and September 30, 2026, at AIPA territorial directorates.
The support is funded through the National Fund for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Environment (FNDAMR). The exact amount granted is not fixed; it depends on available funds, government-established quotas, and the specific list of covered agricultural risks and assets.
Additionally, Moldova is preparing for a strategic agricultural policy program for 2026–2030. This program aims to align domestic farming with EU standards by introducing a support system based on farmer registration, land and livestock identification, verifiable records, and environmental conditions. The new system will feature administrative controls, including a Farmer Register and integrated monitoring systems.
