Moldova launches 2026 Diaspora Days program across the country
From 3 to 21 August 2026, Moldova’s Office for Relations with the Diaspora will host a series of cultural, educational and civic events under the slogan “Wherever we are, Moldova unites us”. The programme opens with the exhibition “Bessarabian Authors in the World” at the National Library, featuring book launches by diaspora writers Iurie Cojocaru, Tamara Șchiopu and Dina Vrancean, and a graphic showcase by Olga Chilat.
Key events include a Youth Talk forum on 4 August at the Government House, a central Diaspora Forum on 7 August at the Palace of the Republic, and a sports competition, the Diaspora Cup, on 15 August at Dinamo Stadium. Throughout the three‑week period, additional activities such as art exhibitions, a crafts market, open‑door days at public institutions, and city‑quest games will be held in both in‑person and hybrid formats to engage Moldovans at home and abroad.
The initiative aims to strengthen ties between the state and Moldovan communities overseas, promote cultural heritage, and encourage diaspora participation in the country’s European integration and development processes.
