Moldova approves new phytosanitary product regulations
The Moldovan government has approved new regulations regarding the testing, authorization, and registration of phytosanitary products that are not currently authorized within European Union member states.
The regulation establishes a procedural framework for evaluating these products while ensuring compliance with human health and environmental protection standards. This includes the process for submitting applications, required documentation, and the stages of evaluation and registration.
Key provisions include the establishment of an annual testing program, including biological efficiency tests conducted in the field. Once approved, authorizations for these products will be valid for a period of seven years. The initiative can be launched by applicants, public or private entities, or agricultural producer associations.
The National Center for Animal, Plant Health and Food Safety will be responsible for examining applications, coordinating the testing program, and issuing authorizations. The National Public Health Agency and the Environmental Protection Inspectorate will assist in assessing the impact of these products on human health and the environment.
