Moldova approves six new university degree programmes
The Moldovan government approved the addition of six bachelor‑level programmes to the national higher‑education catalogue in a meeting on 29 July. The new specialities are furniture design, geographic information systems (GIS), tourism geography, bioinformatics, pharmacy assistance and sports travel and tourism. They will be incorporated into the Nomenclator of study fields and specialties, the official document that defines which programmes universities may offer.
Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun said the expansion is intended to match professional training to labour‑market needs and improve graduate employability, adding that “through the introduction of these specialties we offer young people the possibility to prepare for fields with development potential.” Universities may develop the programmes at the Ministry’s proposal after consulting business representatives.
