Moldova awards 170 MW in wind energy projects
Seven onshore wind power projects with a combined capacity of 170 MW have been selected following a tender process in Moldova. The winning bids were determined based on the lowest offered price for electricity production, with prices ranging between 1.2398 and 1.2528 lei/kWh (excluding VAT).
Key winners include the “Lumina Noastră” Consortium, which secured four projects totaling 54 MW, and the “Navitas Energy” Consortium, owned by Joseco Holdings Co. Limited (the parent company of Premier Energy), which obtained a 40.5 MW project. Other successful bidders include the “LEAFWIND ENERGY” SRL and “Oromaxmontaj” SRL consortium, as well as the “Summa FIBA Enerji” Consortium.
As part of the tender requirements, all selected projects must install Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). These systems are intended to increase the flexibility of the National Energy System and support the growth of domestic renewable energy production. The minimum storage capacity required is 0.25 MWh for every MW of supported wind energy.
