Moldova boosts EU economic integration via Business Week and central bank IMF/World Bank participation
Moldova Business Week 2026 will be held in Chișinău from 28 September to 2 October, bringing together investors, exporters, financial institutions and development partners. The five‑day programme will focus on three pillars: deeper European economic integration, high‑growth investment sectors and the internationalisation of services. It will feature thematic forums, B2B meetings, round‑tables and more than 30 partner‑organised events. The previous edition attracted over 3,175 on‑site participants and 13,200 online attendees from more than 40 countries.
National Bank Governor Anca Dragu attended the IMF and World Bank 2026 meeting in Varna, Bulgaria (18‑21 June). She spoke on the digital transformation of finance, highlighting Moldova’s instant‑payment system MIA, the country’s connection to the Single Euro Payments Area in October 2025 and ongoing reforms to align with EU standards. "Digitalisation of finance means a trustworthy infrastructure, faster and cheaper services for citizens and businesses," Dragu said, emphasizing the role of digital tools in building a resilient, European‑aligned financial system.
