Moldova border crossings Leușeni and Sculeni experience heavy traffic

Increased flows of travelers and vehicles have been reported at the Leușeni and Sculeni border crossing points on the exit side from the Republic of Moldova. To manage the congestion, authorities have opened additional lanes and implemented the REVERS procedure.

Border Police and Customs officials recommend that travelers use alternative crossing points, such as Costești, Leova, or Cahul, if their itineraries allow. In the last 24 hours, customs data shows that 11,163 cars, 2,821 trucks, and 668 buses or minibuses passed through the border posts.

Customs officials also reported 16 incidents related to goods declaration, tariff applications, and authorization requirements. Additionally, five vehicles were identified for exceeding their permitted stay in the country. Undeclared items discovered included an electric scooter and parts, a pneumatic weapon, food supplements, face masks, helmets, hard drives, and mobile phones.
